Grayson Settle is a soft-spoken man who lets his car do his talking for him. His car or more accurately is a 1951 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. This is a type of vehicle that was used by businesses in the late 1940’s and into the 1950’s for deliveries and other light hauling.
His has a true Del Rio heritage as he explains in this podcast. He found it in a back yard where it had been sitting following a wreck. When the Iraq War began in 2003 he decided it was time to display his patriotism, hence the red, white and blue design. Even today he still does a lot of the work on it himself. He says being the antique’s mechanic is easy since it does not have any computers on it.

This is a really neat
This is a really neat vehicle. I used to stop at the Exxon at 8th and Avenue F every morning on my way to the high school. Mr. Settle was driving this well before 9/11. He stopped there frequently, as well, usually at about the time I did. I love automobiles of that era and complimented him on it then. After he painted it red-white-and-blue, I thought it was far and away the coolest vehicle in town! He couldn't have painted it any other color to make it more awesome. My hat is off to him for preserving and displaying a real part of our country's history.
