Revelations? I don't

Revelations? I don't know...

But, a compelling case could be made. On the other hand, Jesus said no one will know the hour or day of his return (para).

I don't know...maybe we are all just seeing a decline in civilization right now and not so much "the end". Either way, it's depressing to read and watch what is going on all around us.

I could not help but weigh

I could not help but weigh in on this argument!
I realize that many of you will not even believe that it is really I. To those disbelievers I pose this question: why is it, that you have no compunction about believing Moses when he told you that he spoke to me, but you have every doubt that this is really me? I figured if I was to pick another Moses to speak to you today at my holy mount, it is most likely that you would consider that person to be schizophrenic and truly certifiable. Being merciful I decided to spare any human being from that ridicule and burden, and opted to speak to you directly; however, it still bothers me that you believe Moses who lived over 4 millennia ago when he tells you he spoke to me, (without having any inkling of doubt that he may have been schizophrenic,) but you would not believe any new messengers that I would pick today (If I were not GOD, I would have my feelings hurt.) All I can say is that I should have never sent Freud.
Now that we have the identity issue all settled, I will move on to the reason I decided to speak to you this day.
Seems you are having some trouble with this poll that Joe posted, and I could not help but wonder, did I waste all the time I spent giving humans the ability to think, reason, and question all that is in the universe? I only wondered about that because most of you do not seem to want to use that ability, but then I thought about all of you who do think and question, and I decided it was definitely worth spending that time. Since many of you have missed some of the questions that have been asked, (which no doubt have led Joe and many like him to post such a poll or ones that are similar,) I will share some of them with you. Know this: I get tickled pink when these questions are asked; because, it means you are using the gift that I gave you.
Question: Why am I practicing the religion I am a part off?
Answer: Because that is what my parents were, and they raised me in that faith. Given that years of brain washing are not easily reversed, especially if one’s faith is not questioned, it is perfectly understandable.
Question: How much do I really know about my religion? Have I researched its history and origin? Have I even read the Holy Scriptures that are the foundation for my religion?
Answer: I know what I have been told about my religion, and why should I research what has already been researched; I have better things to do with my time. Why should I read the Holy Scriptures, my ancestors did not. After all, they did not even know how to read, until several decades after Gutenberg invented printing, and they managed ok, they even got into heaven… having purchased indulgences from the Roman Catholic Church.
Question: Why are there so many religions? You would think God would just be clear about what he wants from us, and he would make it simple, why is it so complicated?
Since that question is addressed to me, I will answer it for you: I have made it simple, inside each and every one of you is all you need to know, it is in your DNA, (except for those of you whom are schizophrenic, which makes me wonder if I should have created Freud first instead of Adam…. Hmmm.) You ask what is it that is inside of your DNA that I gave you? Why it is that very ability to ask questions, the ability to reason and think. The fact that this question comes from you, is what gives me hope and keeps me from giving up on you. I did not make you lazy, you did that yourselves, the moment you stopped using my gift to you and believed what another human being told you without questioning it, and that was the beginning of religion I am sad to say. Some crook told you the only way to speak to me is by listening to him instead of listening to me, that gave him dominion over you, the power to control you, something that even I did not want. I never wanted to control you, I wanted you to control your own destiny, but being lazy some of you wanted to give that control away, and over time that number grew until it became an epidemic; that epidemic is called organized religion.
Moral of the story… do not be offended by Joe’s poll. On the contrary, you should follow his suit and start asking more questions like his. Just remember these questions tickle me pink. If someone tells you it’s blasphemy to ask such questions, know they are affiliated with the same folk that sold your ancestors Indulgences, know that they lie.
Be well, live long, and prosper for you have my blessings, but most of all, question what you believe in and do not believe anything about me that you have not questioned. You owe it to yourself.

Humbly Yours,
God All Mighty

ROFLMAO!!! :)

Interesting Moniker, and all

Interesting Moniker, and all I can say is Amen, well except for the specific wording of Joe's poll :) because his one particular question constituted a label. Oh and thanks for bringing Freud into this world he turned out to be a great baseline for an educated nut job.

Whirlwind, I agree with most

Whirlwind,

I agree with most of what you say. You and I are both professing Christians and patriotic Americans! At first I wasn't even going to dignify this poll with a posting, but after seeing how many were lured in, I had to add my meager $.02 worth.

When I was growing up we were always cautioned not to discuss politics or religion. Well as I've aged I've discovered these two topics always inspire the liveliest of discussions and many colorful viewpoints if you will.

To answer Joe's poll, YES - I whole heartedly believe these are the end times. Any biblical scholar who is honest can see how the signs of the times correlate with prophecy in the scriptures. I'm not going to sit here and list a bunch of scriptures or get on a pulpit and preach, but I do believe we are in the end times. Once Israel became a nation again in 1948, I believe we entered the end times. Some will say we are in the last generation before Jesus returns. Others will say the Bible doesn't have "all the answers". That is correct. If the Bible did have all the answers, then what would we need faith for? If the Bible did contain all the answers, there isn't a book shelf large enough in the Library of Congress or anywhere else on terra firma to contain it.

It's funny how some in the scientific world and halls of academics are now starting to entertain the remote possibility of "intelligent design" or a "higher power". I never did believe in a "theory" of evolution. It is easier for my simple mind to grasp that it takes a creator to assemble a wristwatch and make it run with accuracy, than to wait for a bazillion years for all the parts to lay on a table and assemble themselves somehow and magically start to tell time?

Here Joe is MHO. You asked for a poll.

Cheers and may all who enter the SWT LIVE! Have a great and blessed day!

Oh, what ever happened to the Reverend IKE? I see him logged on lately but no posting? One final note, come back Border Smiley!

Shock Jock Journalism runs

Shock Jock Journalism runs wild to get readers to draw their attention to LIVE Poll and their own spin. Let me SPIN my Fairy Tell...LIVE change it on their own without inputs from readers...I say NOT.. Not only clobbered by the Pentecostals but the Christians that you have offended... But Polls are what they are and without the exchange of thoughts this publication and many others would go out of bussiness...But I don't think you need to SHOCK us to read your INTERNET newspaper.

I agree, nstrong. So, here

I agree, nstrong. So, here are some of my opinions. The poll, as worded, tends to put me off. I think the words "fairy tales" caused me the most amount of grief. I'm a lifelong Christian and am satisfied with my faith. I do realize, however, that all Christians do not believe the same things. There is one basic belief, and beyond that are the theologies and studies propounded by each denomination. Then again, I am confident that all Christian believers are not rote followers, adhering to whatever special doctrine they may be told. I believe a true Christian will take advantage of Bible studies, seminars, and religious programs offered by his denomination. I've always been an advocate of learning all one can about whatever it is. Sunday school classes are great forums for sharing opinions, questioning, learning, and growing in the faith. Yes, I believe the Bible, despite its many translations over the years. No, I don't believe it literally in all aspects. Yes, I have studied the factual evidence to verify its overall authenticity. No, I don't think these are the end times. They will come whenever, and I as a person of faith do not concern myself with hysterical predictions. I remember groups who from time to time go sit on a mountain top and expect the end in a few hours. They have all been disappointed, obviously.

One things concerns me. Our country was founded by believers, and for the most part, we have followed their lead. Yes, I have examined the pros and cons of whether this country was established on Christian principles. It was, and that's an argument not worth fighting anymore, for me. The country has now strayed into what some call popular secularism, and I blame us Christians for that. Most of us forget that we are charged with evangelism, to spread the word. We've become timid and have let the secularists dictate our moral fiber. Personally, I'm fed up with political correctness. I want God back in the classroom. I want us to salute the flag and appreciate our forebears who brought us here. I can respect someone else's beliefs, but I expect them to respect mine. I want some "civil" brought back into civilization before we go down the tubes to complete savagery. The "me first" and "my rights" generation is completely off the true path. Teenaged girls viciously beating one another. Rudeness everywhere. When did people decide no one needed to be "nice"?

Organized religion has much to answer for, undoubtedly. But it has proved over the years to be the best guide for civilized society.

Okay,slap me around awhile.

I whole hearteadly agree

I whole hearteadly agree with you, I want to live in a Christian country, I want to know that my children and grand children get to know America as the Christian country I grew up in. Why is it that its OK to have muslim countries, Budahist Countries, Jewish Countries but not a Christian country? Christianity is the most forgiving religion and as a result we allow people to step all over us. It felt right to go to church every Sunday, it felt right to have the family and friends breaking bread after the Sunday service and felt so right to worship Jesus when I was growing up, now we feel we have to apologize for being Christians and we don't even want to say that we attend church for the fear that we may offend someone, well, count me out. I'm a Christian American. GOD DUTY COUNTRY

Thank you Whirlwind. I really appreciate your thoughts.

Joe, I think I don't think

Joe, I think I don't think that this one is going to go where you want it to. This will not engender a healthy debate.

so you think?

so you think?

Since when is "healthy

Since when is "healthy debate" a measure of respect for readers here?

I'm afraid you may have a

I'm afraid you may have a point there. I guess that my problem with this survey is that, this is not as simple as "do you like vanilla or chocolate Ice Cream". In that argument we could all simply argue that there are not enough choices or I like Chocolate but with pistachios and where was that choice?

No this survey tries to make Religion black and white and it isn't and given the fractiousness of humanity in general it never will be. So what happens and has indeed happened here, is that even though the author of this is "if I remember correctly" a devout Christian, this whole thing comes across as insensitive, period.

Why is everyone so sensitive

Why is everyone so sensitive suddenly? What is wrong with a simple question like this? Do you believe it is Revelations or don't you? As far as I can see, there are more who don't see these events as a Revelation than those who do on this poll.

Did we forget our freedom of speech and expression? Did we ignore the freedom to worship or not? Don't turn this into more than it is. That's how this country becomes so gun shy about very important issues like Sex, Religion, Race, Politics and Gender. Political correctness is making us very tentative!

No one is sensitive. It's

No one is sensitive. It's personal. They don't think I've been kicked around enough this month. So pile on!

Joe, I for one am not trying

Joe, I for one am not trying to "kick" you around. If I wanted to do that I would pick up the phone. I surely hope that you of all people would know that. And in addition, if you are going to input comments/articles/surveys of this type for whatever reason, be prepared to grab your Kevlar vest and deal with the impact.

If you would remember, sometime past I asked you why you didn't have a regular type or easier forum software and you told me that while you had struggled over that, you decided that you were more of a news publication than one of, say, forums. So I would ask you this, is this a news worthy item? If so, then so be it. If not, well then so be that.

Bring it on! Ever wonder why

Bring it on! Ever wonder why Bleu Edmondson's latest CD has so much appeal to me?

It is newsworthy. But alas, in this post-modern faux culture we live in, mentioning anything having to do with God reveals exactly how shallow our society has become. Heck, we even have some arguments about the Establishment Clause on this thread. What in the world is that? Are we so blinded by wonton materialism that we cannot even mention the Christian God, much less discuss Revelations?

maybe less time in the bars

maybe less time in the bars and more time studing the bible would be the answer...GOD listen to us all no matter what...Isn't that great to know...

[sarcasm]I met Jesus and

[sarcasm]I met Jesus and James Dean in a bar. But being the egotistical S.O.B. that I am, I decided to BLOG about it, because only *I* can. [/sarcasm]

Don't worry I'm not going

Don't worry I'm not going all PC on you here. Blech!! I see that you changed your poll, but I have a problem when people call things black and white when they're not.

But anyway, alrighty then if you would like controversy then here it is;

A good poll in my mind might have read;
1. Do you believe that the Bible is a factual document?
2. Do you believe that the Bible is a fictional document?
3. Do you believe that the Bible is more a historical document?

Or if you really want to stir things up how about this;
1. Do you believe that the Bible is factual given it's various incarnations?
and if so which specific incarnation is more true than the rest?
2. DO you believe that the Bible if written today would be forced to contain a warning label due to it's graphic content?

Here's another one;
1. Did the council of Nicaea first decide what the Christian party line would be and then cut out pertinent facts to push the party line?
2. If all of the books available were included would that have changed the face of Christianity throughout the ages?

I could come up with more but I'm sure this will hit like a chemical munition, quickly but with side effects over time. And remember that I neither agree nor disagree with what I've said, I just feel that Joe is trying to encourage discourse and so be it.

So help me understand, how

So help me understand, how is it that "fictional" in your proposed poll any different than "Fairy tails" in the Live's poll?

I think you just like to whine, that's what I think.

Because I find the term

Because I find the term "fictional" to be much less of a bad rub on ones beliefs than using the term "Fairy Tails".
And I don't call it "whining", I call it bitchin and moaning. But I usually do so only while I am actually doing something about that which I am bitchin and moaning about.

Your problem is lack of

Your problem is lack of mental organization. There is black and white. If you can't discern black and white in various arguments, how the heck do you make any decisions?

Unless I'm mistaken about

Unless I'm mistaken about identities here, it may be instructive to remember he runs several successful businesses here, and that, along with a recognition that things are rarely black and white, may be the differences between you and Amor.

Ah but then I might say your

Ah but then I might say your problem in this case is lack of perception. Since I obviously discerned the "black and white" of your poll and labeled it as such.

You would think the

You would think the publisher would consider his readers. Maybe not. His spin is way off target and someone need to hold him accountable for his statements. But you do bring up a good point...?

LIVE’s Opinion poll

LIVE’s Opinion poll statement that the Bible is full of fairly tales makes fun of many Christian’s briefs and for one reader I’m personally offended by it by your comment.

I see nothing wrong with

I see nothing wrong with this poll personally. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion and beliefs, so long as no one imposes their beliefs on others you can state your opinion all day long, this is what’s so great about America.

The poll was one sided and

The poll was one sided and would not allow for my opinion and beliefs to be voted on without LIVE tring to spin it out for their own spin. As you stated don't impose their beliefs or non-beliefs on others. I'm not going to roll over and let anyone walk over me too.

GOD BLESS AMERICA .... getting back to the basic plan too. I notice they change the poll that's nice.
