Organization aims to eradicate child abuse in the region

When it comes to child abuse in all its sinister forms, Baptist Child & Family Services representatives say it’s imperative that communities in their five-county region understand the ramifications and reporting responsibilities. April is National Child Abuse Prevention month, and BCFS is making a push to broaden comprehension of the tragic ramifications of maltreatment of children who are helpless to defend themselves.

First person “at bat” in a possible lineup of people who want to address the Hospital District Board about concerns at Val Verde Regional Medical Center was Jovita Cásarez, community activist, putting board members on notice that conditions of customer service, medical professionalism and billing for emergency room services must be improved.
